‭Pirates in the news this week include a new documentary by filmmaker Rollo Jackson tells the history of this music through the path of cassette tape recordings of prominent London pirates in his film Tape Crackers. The founder and Director of Electromagnetism of the Prometheus Radio Project, Pete Tridish, announced his departure from the organization. Pearl Jam has just announced a new box set re-release of their second and third albums, that includes a tape of their pirate station Monkeywrench Radio. A pirate radio station operating from a house in Ponders End, a suburb north of London was shutdown February 4th after a police raid. Pacifica plans to jump into the LPAM arena. Paul Riismandel writes on Radio Survivor that Unlicensed AM broadcasting a little safer than FM.
