Pirates in the news this week include several FCC actions against medium wave offenders. Including a NOUO to Free radio Lompoc. The FCC ordered the shut down of two pirate FM radio stations that were operating in Erie PA. A NAL issued to a FM station on the frequencies 90.1 MHz and 96.7 MHz in Plainfield, New Jersey. Another NOUO was tacked on the door in Brooklyn, New York. Yet another NOUO for a station operating in operating in Baltimore, Maryland on 90.7 MHz. And a $20,000 NAL to Ethics Inc. for unauthorized operation of an LPFM. A pair of Pirate operators have gone legit with their own legal station KSVG. John Anderson reports that the FCC approved a increase in the power of FM-HD digital broadcasts.
